Hydration is Key

Staying hydrated is one of the most important parts of your day. The average adult human body is made up of 50-65% of your body. It’s recommended to drink an equivalent of 8 glasses of water a day so it doesn’t impact your daily routine. Drinking water provides the proper nutrients for your skin, muscle cells and detoxifies any toxins in the body.

In the gym, depending on how much water you drink, you will sweat more or less. When heading to the gym, a lot of people will bring water canteens in order to remain hydrated so that they stay consistent with their workout plan. Water is no doubt an energy booster that helps burn calories and burns fat.

If you don’t stay hydrated there are many issues that could impact your body. Some of these issues include fatigue, cramps, exhaustion, loss of balance and fainting. This shows weakness in your workouts and will slow you down. A way to track dehydration is seeing the color of your urine. Dark yellow urine means you are very dehydrated, while lighter yellow or  clear means you’re hydrated. Some occasions you may have to use the bathroom multiple times.

With that being said, it is important to drink the right amount of water, drinking too much water can lead to vomiting, muscle cramps, headaches, nausea and fatigue. Notice how these symptoms are similar to dehydration, yes you are drinking water but just like anything else, too much of one thing can be harmful for your body. Staying balanced with your hydration is very important.
